About Emma
Designer Emma Wallace graduated from Wellington Polytechnic (now Massey University) with the Diploma in Fashion Design and Technology in the early 1990’s and successfully entered the industry cutting her teeth in the commercial world as patternmaker with Wellington’s classic women’s and men’s fashion house, Leod Hais.
After three years she decided to go out alone and as a young designer she gained valuable experience, being contracted to meet a wide range of commissions from made to measure weddings and menswear, to a tween girls range and pacifi ca street wear. During this time she also started a family then on her return to the industry Emma spent four years with award winning Wellington designer Zana Feuchs as production manager and assistant in her design workroom.
Emma Wallace launched her own womenswear label emma in 2006 with the benefi t of extensive expertise and a passion to create pretty and practical New Zealand made fashion collections. She is relishing the opportunities of her role as designer/director and has successfully showed at Air New Zealand Fashion Week (2008) and ID Dunedin Fashion Week (2009).
